Shopping Ban || Month 1 Update

If this is first visit to Naoadays, welcome! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you stick around. This blogpost might be a little confusing for you, so you miiiight want to start HERE instead. The link will direct you to a page with an overview of my shopping ban and why I'm embarking on this journey.

June was a roller coaster of emotions. Wanting to shop but knowing that I shouldn't was especially a struggle in the first week, but once I counted the number of clothes I owned, my mentality started to change. I realized that I already have more than enough of whatever it was that I would be searching for in the store. Dresses? Have 40 of those. Tops? Have 40 of those too. I simply don't need to add anything to my wardrobe. Anything else would just be clutter.

While I still crave the adrenaline rush of finding a 100% wool J.Crew sweater hidden in the rows of ugly grandma sweaters and worn out H&Ms, the satisfaction of leaving the thrift store without an item in hand trumped that craving every single time. So I hereby proudly announce, I bought ZERO pieces of clothing this month!

That said, I still dipped into my monthly leeway budget to buy 2 plates and a cup, for a total spending of $5.30 from my $25 budget. Not that I need to justify my purchases, but these were more replacement purchases than 'unnecessary wants', since I somehow managed to break several plates in the last couple of months.

It's mind-goggling that my outlook is beginning to (or has) change(d) already, after only 30 days. Imagine what life-altering conclusions I can come to after three months! I'm excited to see where month 2 will take me and hope that you will consider joining me in the journey!
